Louisa has 10 years’ casework experience in forensic speech analysis, having worked at JP French at the most senior level as a full Consultant and company Director.
In this role she held responsibilities for providing advice and staff training for the Netherlands Forensic Institute. She worked on more than 900 English and foreign language cases involving forensic voice comparison, transcription and speaker profiling. She has provided reports for UK and overseas courts and has given expert evidence from the witness box.
Louisa has carried out research into individual voice characteristics and has contributed to the evaluation of automatic speaker recognition systems. In collaboration with colleagues from JP French and Cambridge University, she has published and presented research at international conferences. She has held teaching and research positions at the University of York, including lecturing on forensic speech science to postgraduate students. She is a member of professional organisations and has served on the Executive Committee of the International Association for Forensic Phonetics and Acoustics.
After a career break, we are delighted to announce that Louisa is back and working at JP French International where she undertakes casework with the benefit of her knowledge, experience and the wisdom that brings.
